In the past 8 years, we have primarily developed our own properties, beginning with our charter community, East Ridge. We have occasionally sold lots to interested spec builders, but we've mostly been the only builders in our neighborhoods. This changed with the Drake's Meadow community. Interest from other custom and spec builders was so great that lots were sold to individuals for building by others in this thirty-seven lot subdivision. Our other featured community in this time frame was The Glen at Mills Gap, a nine lot community in the south end. In addition, we constructed some luxury town homes in SouthSide Village, also in Southern Buncombe County, and custom homes in SouthSide Estates. There is one new home remaining in Applewood, a ten lot traditionally styled village in the fabulous Haw Creek area of East Asheville. Until a couple of years ago, we did all of our own sales, as well.
While all of this developing and building has kept our company very active over the years, our current project is our primary focus now. As Asheville grows, so does the demand for property within the vicinity Asheville proper, and many new developments are springing up in the southern part of Buncombe county, spilling over into Henderson county. Duckett, Powell & Thomson, as Hollabrook, LLC, are developing a community called Hollabrook Farm, located at the crossroads of Asheville, Hendersonville and Brevard. The property is an old dairy farm, operational until the mid-1980s. Hollabrook Farm promises to be another trend setter for our company.
