OUR BEGINNINGS
Duckett, Powell & Thomson began in 1999, with a six acre land acquisition in East Buncombe County. This property became East Ridge in the Riceville Valley, a trend-setting community that set the standard for many other subdivisions in the greater Asheville area. The forty-two home development amazed even its developers, who had intended for the single family homes to be based on several "standard" floor plans. What evolved, however, was a primarily custom home neighborhood, with all of the contracted homes being upgraded to suit a different clientele altogether.
Mitchell Duckett and Terry Powell began the company with a desire to provide quality homes in the standard housing market. Both men have their own business experience. Mr. Duckett, in addition to his building business, has operated businesses including insurance, marketing and advertising outfits. Mr. Powell has also, and currently owns and operates Village Antiques in Historic Biltmore Village.
Both business owners have additional years of experience in Real Estate, development (both residential and commercial), marketing, advertising, management, consulting and sales. Their diversified backgrounds make for a well-grounded, well-rounded company pool! The result of their experience has become the standard on which the company was founded.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Our homes represent quality and custom features as standard offerings, as opposed to costly additions to the contracted sale. Our custom homes, as well as our spec homes, are built to the same standard of quality that we hold to any property we represent.
